8 Feb 2008 - Princes Trust Redecorate our Basement
Over the last few weeks a team of about a dozen young people co-ordinated by the Princes Trust have been working hard to repaint the smaller rooms in our basement.. In Preston most of the work is co-ordinated by the Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service. However our project also involved a an under cover operation by the local constabulary as police officer Greg Plummer led the team and only gave the game away by wearing his uniform on the last morning of the project.

The team learned to work hard together not only with paint brush and rollers but in raising funds and resources for the project, and in gaining the confidence to take part in public presentations.

In a few short weeks the two rooms were transformed enough to invite the Mayor of Preston to perform the official opening on Friday 8th February.

As part of the ceremony all the young people who had taken part were awarded ASBO certificates (downloaded from FYT's web site and duly personalised.
‘You’ve been ASBO’d certificate’ is a stylish award that we want youth workers, teachers, parents, community leaders and any other adults to present to young people who they think merit this symbol to say that they are Alright Sensational Beautiful Original!
